I hate to be the bearer of bad news but i just have to inform you that WhatsApp- A popular messaging app, will be discontinue on Blackberry and Nokia operating system this year 2016 ending to be precised.



Earlier this week Whatsapp celebrated its 7th years anniversary with its 1 Billion Active users, instead to break a bad news on such a good day, the team decided to wait till on Friday when they announced that: the app will soon be discontinued on BlackBerry and Nokia devices running those company's operating systems.

Yes! that include the Blackberry 10 device, Though the new Android-powered Blackberry Priv slider phone might probaly survive this heat because it was built with Android OS.

As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. So, by the end of 2016, we will be ending support for WhatsApp Messenger on the following mobile platforms:

• BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
• Nokia S40
• Nokia Symbian S60
• Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
• Windows Phone 7.1 

While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future

The Nokia S40 discontinuation will deeply affect developing countries like Nigeria because most people still uses old Nokia phone. The like of Nokia asha 200 and 203, Nokia 6100, 6200, Nokia c2 and c3 just to mention a few. I know most of us still love our old nokia phones. WhatsApp suggests "upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone" if you want to keep on using the service — if not, you'll need to find another messaging service by the end of the year before the service got discontinued.

Good news for Game lovers, The Resident Evil games will soon be available for modern console, the PlayStation 4 and xbox one. Capcom announced today that the Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 will all be available for PS4 and Xbox one this year.


According to Capcom Resident Evil 6 will be launched on March 29th, followed by 5 in the summer and 4 in the fall. Do bear in mind that each game will cost you $19.99. The Resident Evil 6 will also come with all the post-launched downloadable content.

The Resident Evil 4, the series was about slow-moving horror but nonetheless the resident Evil 6 comes with a new feature which include the ability to play co-op as multiple characters with interweaving stories. For those of us who like the Resident Evil movies will definately like the game.

Though the press release didn't mention but it seems this partnership is for leica to develop optics in conjuction with huawei in its future smartphones, what this simply means is that the chinese maker's smartphones might feature leica lens in the future. And not just the camera aspect they might also play a role in the design, look and others.

Huawei is not the first to do this though, lot of smartphones manufacturers has gone this part before, LG’s G5 has a module built with B&O Play, while Alcatel’s latest Idol 4 and 4S feature audio technology created in partnership with JBL. Likewise, BlackBerry’s PRIV has Schneider-Kreuznach optics, and Nokia smartphones from yesteryear had Carl Zeiss lenses just to mention a few.

Google take the credit has one of their products, Google Cardboard, heals a woman sight, now she could see for the first time in eight years.


Google cardboard has been reported to have help a woman, named Bonny, who suffers from Stargardt disease. It is a common form of vision loss that causes photoreceptor cells in the retina to die and in rare cases can lead to complete vision loss. Bonny used Cardboard in conjunction with a free app called Near Sighted VR Augmented Aid. The app takes a video feed from a phone’s rear facing camera and delivers the same image to each eye. This is known as a stereoscopic image and how Cardboard already works.

This technology is simple, dedicated headsets whose sole purpose is to provide a split screened camera feed., which most of us are familiar with already.

You could imagine the joy and excitement in bonnie Face when she could see for the first time in Eight Years. Thanks to Technology and Google for making this possible and giving bonnie a chance to see her children and husband again.

Two years and some days Google lunched App Store version for education for children whose main aim is to promote and push Android Tablets into schools. Thought there has been no news about this education version until now, when Google officially announcing plan to shut the store.


Google tells TechCrunch that in about a month it'll "no longer sell Google Play for Education licenses," so schools won't be able to buy and distribute apps in bulk to their students. Google says it'll continue to support the tablets already out there using Play for Education apps.

As of March 14 or later, Google will no longer sell Google Play for Education licenses. We’re committed to providing schools with the best-in-class tools for the classroom, including Chromebooks, which are the #1 selling device in US K-12 education, and a strong and growing ecosystem of educational apps. We’ll continue to support our Google Play for Education customers and the devices that they have purchased.

Shutting down play for education will not be a failure to Google Inc. because since the launch of the play for education no significant improvement/growth was recorded since the main aim is to promote Android tablet for education; which has low adaption rate then.  But on the other hand ChromeBooks has recieved significant growth so therefore Google plan to promote more of Chromebook since that is what Google is interested in right now.

Apple Music just hit over 11 million subscribers according to the Apple senior vice presidents Craig Federighi and Eddy Cue appeared on John Gruber's podcast, The Talk Show, which was published Today.


Starting with the Figure, last month Financial Times reported a figure on Apple surpassing over 10 million subscribers  which correspond with the number Eddy Cue says this month. Mainly looking at the Growth rate you will notice a speedy increase which i think is awesome.

The report also show there are 1 billion Apple devices in active use, Eddy Cue says in the podcast that; since many people own multiple devices, the company has 782 million iCloud users. Those users are uploading billions of photos to iCloud every week, according to Eddy Cue.
