Just As WhatsApp, Viber Is Now End-To-End Encrypting Messages And Phone Calls

Just as WhatsApp, Viber is rolling out end-to-end encryption for all conversions on its platform, the company yesterday in a blog post announced that over more than 700 million people can now communicate securely on the messaging service.

Viber was acquire by a Japanese company Rakuten in 2014, since the purchase the app has received huge increase, high adaption, with a growth rate of 67%.

The encryption applies to one on one messages, calls, and group conversations. Though, apart from the default encryptions users can also manually encrypt contacts which will be indicated with a green padlock, a red padlock denote a problem in authentications, which mean your conversation is not safe or has been monitored , and attacked by a third party. 

Users can also hide their chat from main screen, the end-to-end encryption will work on all platform be it Mobile, Desktop and tablet version. Update will be rolling out in the next two weeks, user can know when they are communicating securely when they see a grey padlock.
